Diagnosis of Eimeria species using traditional and molecular methods in field studies

TL;DR: Using a combination of morphological and pathological plus molecular (DNA amplification) diagnostic methodologies it was possible to identify the presence of multiple circulating species in the flock as well as higher frequencies for some of them, especially Eimeria praecox and Eimaria maxima, which were identified in 100% of the flocks.

Bovine babesiosis and anaplasmosis complex: diagnosis and evaluation of the risk factors from Bahia, Brazil.

TL;DR: E evaluation of the risk factors relating to the presence of ticks and the age of the animals showed that there was a significant association with the frequency of animals infected with both pathogens, and nPCR proved to be a good tool for diagnosing the agents of the bovine babesiosis and anaplasmosis complex because of its sensitivity and specificity in comparison with blood smears.

Detection of Rickettsia bellii and Rickettsia amblyommii in Amblyomma longirostre (Acari: Ixodidae) from Bahia state, Northeast Brazil

TL;DR: The current study extends the distribution of R. amblyommii (strain Aranha), which was detected in A. longirostre collected from the thin-spined porcupine Chaetomys subspinosus and the hairy dwarf Porcupine Coendou insidiosus in the state of Bahia, and reports the first detection of Rickettsia bellii in adults of A.Longirostre.
