TL;DR: In this paper, the cogging torque of a small two-phase axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine (AFPMSM) was analyzed using analytical models of airgap permeance and magneto-motive force.
Abstract: This paper deals with the study of the cogging torque of a small two phases axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine (AFPMSM). Analytical models of airgap permeance and of magneto-motive force (MMF) are proposed. In order to validate the developed analytical model, the obtained results are compared with that of a three dimensional (3D) finite element method (FEM) simulation of the motor in a special case. The cogging torque due to the permanent magnets (PM) is then estimated based upon the virtual works method. The influence of both magnetization distribution and shape of stator auxiliary poles on the cogging torque is evaluated by means of the developed analytical model.

TL;DR: In this article, an electromagnetic device optimization for a new de-stacking process of aluminum sheets is presented, where the principle for generation of the adequate field strength by an electromagnetic separator device is presented.
Abstract: This paper deals with an electromagnetic device optimization for a new de-stacking process of aluminum sheets. In a first step, we present the principle for generation of the adequate field strength by an electromagnetic separator device. In a second step, we use a simple and efficient method to calculate the three-dimensional (3D) electromagnetic field and we propose a pattern of current density distribution in an aluminum sheet. Finally, this modeling process leads to the calculation of the de-stacking strength and in so doing to the optimum design for an electromagnetic separator device.
