Journal ArticleDOI
Absence of seasonal variation in the phase of the endogenous circadian rhythm in humans
TL;DR: Evidence is found that there is no seasonal variation in the phase of the endogenous circadian rhythm at all, and this finding indicates that secondary zeitgebers blocked or counterbalanced the seasonal variations in the entrainment effect of the natural photoperiod.
Journal ArticleDOI
Circadian variation in cardiac autonomic activity: reactivity measurements to different types of stressors.
TL;DR: Findings were interpreted as an indication for endogenous circadian and exogenous parasympathetic (vagal) modulation of cardiac reactivity, while sympathetic reactivity is relatively unaffected by the endogenous circadian drive and mainly influenced by exogenous factors.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Virtual Reality Exposure Treatment of Agoraphobia: a Comparison of Computer Automatic Virtual Environment and Head-Mounted Display
TL;DR: The effects of virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET) were investigated in patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia and results indicate that VRET in general was more effective than no treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Weak 24-h periodicity of body temperature and increased plasma vasopressin in melancholic depression.
Liesbeth van Londen,Jaap G. Goekoop,Gerard A. Kerkhof,Koos H. Zwinderman,Victor M. Wiegant,David de Wied +5 more
TL;DR: In melancholic patients increased vasoppressin levels in plasma correlated with a weak 24-h periodicity of body temperature, and the role of vasopressin is discussed in the light of the present findings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suicidality, circadian activity rhythms and platelet serotonergic measures in patients with recurrent suicidal behaviour.
TL;DR: Suicidality, circadian activity rhythms and platelet serotonergic measures in patients with recurrent suicidal behaviour and patients with recurring suicidal behaviour are studied.
