Eclogitic and websteritic diamond sources beneath the Limpopo Belt - is slab-melting the link?
TL;DR: In this article, trace-element concentrations in eclogitic and websteritic inclusions in diamonds from Venetia (South Africa) were analysed using an ion microprobe (SIMS).
Journal ArticleDOI
Reconstruction of the exhumation path of the Alpe Arami garnet-peridotite body from depths exceeding 160 km
Frank E. Brenker,Gerhard P. Brey +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived the peak metamorphic conditions of the Alpe Arami garnet-peridotite body (Ticino, Switzerland) from a combination of the O'Neill & Wood (1979) Fe/Mg garnet olivine exchange thermometer and the Al-in-orthopyroxene barometer.
Journal ArticleDOI
HFSE systematics of rutile-bearing eclogites: New insights into subduction zone processes and implications for the earth’s HFSE budget
TL;DR: In this article, a series of orogenic MORB-type eclogites from different localities was analyzed to determine their HFSE concentrations and to contribute to the question of whether subducted oceanic crust could form a hidden reservoir to account for the mass imbalance of Nb/Ta between BSE and the chondritic reservoir.
Journal ArticleDOI
The partitioning of Fe, Ni and Co between olivine, metal, and basaltic liquid: An experimental and thermodynamic investigation, with application to the composition of the lunar core
TL;DR: The results of the olivine/metal partitioning may be compared to those predicted from thermodynamic calculation; in general, the agreement is good, although the calculated distribution coefficients are slightly greater then those experimentally determined as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
The early roman imperial AES coinage II: Tracing the copper sources by analysis of lead and copper isotopes—copper coins of Augustus and Tiberius*
TL;DR: In this paper, the lead and copper isotopes of Roman Imperial copper coins (denominations as and quadrans) were analysed by MC-ICP-MS and compared with published lead isotope data of ore bodies from the Aegaean, Cyprus, Italy and Spain to fingerprint the sources of Roman copper.
