Journal ArticleDOI
Mobile phone radiofrequency exposure has no effect on DNA double strand breaks (DSB) in human lymphocytes.
Elisa Danese,Giuseppe Lippi,Ruggero Buonocore,Marco Benati,Chiara Bovo,Chiara Bonaguri,Gian Luca Salvagno,Giorgio Brocco,Dirk Roggenbuck,Martina Montagnana +9 more
TL;DR: Investigating the potential genotoxic effect of mobile phone radiofrequency exposure on human peripheral blood mononuclear cells in vitro demonstrates that exposure of human lymphocytes to a conventional 900 MHz RF emitted by a commercial mobile phone for 30 min does not significantly impact DNA integrity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fully automated chemiluminescence vs RIA aldosterone assay in primary aldosteronism work-up
Francesca Pizzolo,Gian Luca Salvagno,Beatrice Caruso,Claudio Cocco,Francesco Zorzi,C. Zaltron,Annalisa Castagna,Lorenzo Bertolone,Francesca Morandini,Giuseppe Lippi,Oliviero Olivieri +10 more
TL;DR: CL assay displays a diagnostic performance very similar to RIA for ARR screening, but it is substantially inferior in the setting of confirmatory tests of autonomous aldosterone secretion, that is, ivSLT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growth hormone retesting during puberty: a cohort study
Paolo Cavarzere,Rossella Gaudino,Marco Sandri,Diego Alberto Ramaroli,Angelo Pietrobelli,Marco Zaffanello,Alessandra Guzzo,Gian Luca Salvagno,Giorgio Piacentini,Franco Antoniazzi +9 more
TL;DR: GH secretion should be retested at mid-puberty, to reduce potential side effects and minimize costs, without impairing growth potential and final height.
Journal ArticleDOI
High prevalence of inherited prothrombotic risk factors in 134 consecutive patients with von Willebrand disease.
Massimo Franchini,Dino Veneri,Giovanni Poli,Franco Manzato,Gian Luca Salvagno,Giuseppe Lippi +5 more
TL;DR: This study suggests that the recent evidence of an association between inherited thrombotic and hemorrhagic disorders also holds true in VWD patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adjustment of serum potassium for age and platelet count. A simple step forward towards personalized medicine.
TL;DR: The results obtained in this study allowed us to assess the importance of knowing the carrier and removal status of canine coronavirus, as a source of infection for other animals, not necessarily belonging to the same breeds.
