New geothermometers for carbonate—evaporite geothermal reservoirs
TL;DR: In this article, two new Ca/Mg and SO4/F geothermometers specific for carbonate-evaporite geothermal reservoirs are proposed, based on the assumption that the five solid phases are represented by pure calcite, dolomite, anhydrite, fluorite and an SiO2 mineral.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geochemistry of the Submarine Gaseous Emissions of Panarea (Aeolian Islands, Southern Italy): Magmatic vs. Hydrothermal Origin and Implications for Volcanic Surveillance
Giovanni Chiodini,Stefano Caliro,Giorgio Caramanna,Domenico Granieri,C. Minopoli,Roberto Moretti,Lavinia Perotta,Guido Ventura +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the concentrations of minor reactive gases (CO, CH4 and H2) of samples collected in November and December, 2002 show drastic compositional changes when compared to previous samples collected from the same area in the 1980s.
Journal ArticleDOI
Source and dynamics of a volcanic caldera unrest: Campi Flegrei, 1983-84.
Luca De Siena,Giovanni Chiodini,Giuseppe Vilardo,Edoardo Del Pezzo,Edoardo Del Pezzo,Mario Castellano,Simona Colombelli,Nicola Tisato,Nicola Tisato,Guido Ventura +9 more
TL;DR: The results show that the high attenuation domain controls the largest monitored seismic, deformation, and geochemical unrest at the caldera.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evidence of a recent input of magmatic gases into the quiescent volcanic edifice of Panarea, Aeolian Islands, Italy
Stefano Caliro,Antonio Caracausi,Giovanni Chiodini,M. Ditta,Francesco Italiano,Manfredi Longo,C. Minopoli,P. M. Nuccio,Antonio Paonita,Andrea Luca Rizzo +9 more
TL;DR: Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Osservatorio Vesuviano, Naples, Italy, USA, USA; as discussed by the authors, N.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermal monitoring of hydrothermal activity by permanent infrared automatic stations: Results obtained at Solfatara di Pozzuoli, Campi Flegrei (Italy)
Giovanni Chiodini,Giuseppe Vilardo,V. Augusti,Domenico Granieri,Stefano Caliro,C. Minopoli,C. Terranova +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a permanent automatic infrared (IR) station was installed at Solfatara crater, the most active zone of Campi Flegrei caldera.
