Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of Phytochemical Profile and Bioproperties of Methanolic Extracts from Different Parts of Tunisian Rumex roseus.
Meryam Chelly,Sabrine Chelly,Cristina Occhiuto,Francesco Cimino,Mariateresa Cristani,Antonina Saija,Claudia Muscarà,Giuseppe Ruberto,Antonio Speciale,Hanen Bouaziz-Ketata,Laura Siracusa +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the phytochemical profile and the biochemical properties of methanolic extracts from different parts (roots, stems and leaves) of Rumex roseus, a wild local Tunisian plant traditionally used as food.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative Analysis of the Essential Oils from two Asteraceous Plants Found in Nigeria, Acanthospermum Hispidum and Tithonia Diversifolia
TL;DR: The essential oils from two members of the Asteraceae, growing wild in Osun State, Nigeria, have been characterised by combined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analyses and a new chemotype is established for T. diversifolia, while the Nigerian A. hispidum is being reported for the first time as a new source of essential oil with some distinction in composition from those of other sources.
Journal ArticleDOI
Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum (Lamiaceae) Essential Oil Prevents Behavioral and Oxidative Stress Changes in the Scopolamine Zebrafish Model
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of O. vulgare ssp. hirtum essential oil (OEO) on cognitive impairment and brain oxidative stress in a scopolamine (Sco)-induced zebrafish (Danio rerio) model of cognitive impairment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Secondary metabolic profiles and anticancer actions from fruit extracts of immature pomegranates.
Venera Russo,Alberto Continella,Carmelo Drago,Alessandra Gentile,Stefano La Malfa,Claudia Giovanna Leotta,Luana Pulvirenti,Giuseppe Ruberto,Giovanni Mario Pitari,Laura Siracusa +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the compositional landscapes and antitumorigenic activities of pomegranate extracts from two different stages of maturation were assessed, showing that immature fruits are rich sources of gallotannins and ellagitannins with the highest amounts contained in immature fruit peels.
