Electrochemical nucleation: Part V. Electrodeposition of cadmium onto vitreous carbon and tin oxide electrodes

TL;DR: In this paper, the electrochemical nucleation of cadmium onto vitreous carbon and onto tin oxide electrodes was studied using potentiostatic methods and the influence of supporting electrolyte was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surface excess entropies and volumes of the mercury-electrolyte interface

TL;DR: In this article, the excess entropies and excess volumes of the mercury-aqueous solution interface were investigated and resolved into the separate contributions of the ions and of the solvent by a quasi-thermodynamic argument.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Pressure Coefficient of the Hydrogen Electrode Reaction

TL;DR: In this paper, various criteria for the mechanism of the hydrogen electrode reaction are considered with particular reference to the pressure coefficient of the reaction rate, and the volume of activation derived for the hydrogen evolution reaction has been found to be −3.4 ml mole−1.
