TL;DR: Case studies are presented as an effective means of integrating design context into the classroom to motivate students and appeal to what educational psychologists term sensory learning styles.
Abstract: A computer-based multimedia system has been developed for the storage, retrieval, and display of slide images and information to support the use of case studies in the undergraduate engineering curriculum. Case studies are presented as an effective means of integrating design context into the classroom to motivate students and appeal to what educational psychologists term sensory learning styles. A detailed description of the multimedia system with feedback on its trial use in the classroom is included.

TL;DR: An interactive multimedia environment has been developed to allow students and instructors access to digital images from case studies of structures and structural failures and the current version of the system is described in light of this experience.
Abstract: An interactive multimedia environment has been developed to allow students and instructors access to digital images from case studies of structures and structural failures. In this multimedia environment, the users can also retrieve, arrange and display images for use in presentations. This paper describes (1) the technical aspects of the development of this system, (2) insights gained from its use and (3) the current version of the system in light of this experience.
