Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction in the community. Results from a Doppler echocardiographic-based survey of a population sample.
Michael Fischer,A. Baessler,H.-W. Hense,Christian Hengstenberg,M. Muscholl,Stephan R. Holmer,Angela Döring,Ulrich Broeckel,Guenter Riegger,Heribert Schunkert +9 more
TL;DR: The prevalences of diastolic abnormalities and diastolics dysfunction are higher than that of systolic dysfunction and are increased (despite age-dependent diagnostic criteria) in the elderly.
Journal Article

Journal ArticleDOI
Left-ventricular dysfunction
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct Heritable Patterns of Angiographic Coronary Artery Disease in Families With Myocardial Infarction
Marcus Fischer,Ulrich Broeckel,Stephan R. Holmer,Andrea Baessler,Christian Hengstenberg,Bjoern Mayer,Jeanette Erdmann,Gernot Klein,Guenter Riegger,Howard J. Jacob,Heribert Schunkert +10 more
TL;DR: Notably, the most hazardous localizations, like left main or proximal disease, display a high heritability, and some features of coronary morphology, such as distal disease, do not appear to be markedly influenced by heritable factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improvement in Exercise Tolerance and Symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure During Treatment With Candesartan Cilexetil
Guenter Riegger,H. Bouzo,P. Petr,J. Münz,R. Spacek,H. Pethig,V. von Behren,M. George,H.-J. Arens +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of an angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist on exercise tolerance and symptoms of congestive heart failure (CHF) was evaluated, and the results showed that candesartan cilexetil produced a dose-related improvement in exercise time.
