Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of hot compression behavior of a new HIPed nickel-based P/M superalloy using processing maps
TL;DR: In this article, the authors employed the hot compression to simulate the isothermal forging process upon the temperature ranging from 1000°C to 1100°C in combination with a strain rate of 0001−10−s−1 for a new P/M nickel-based alloy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microstructure evolutions and nucleation mechanisms of dynamic recrystallization of a powder metallurgy Ni-based superalloy during hot compression
TL;DR: In this paper, microstructure evolutions and nucleation mechanisms of DRX of an advanced Ni-based superalloy during hot deformation were studied using high resolution EBSD and TEM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of strain amount and strain rate on grain structure of a novel high Co nickel-based polycrystalline superalloy
TL;DR: In this article, a double cone (DC) sample was designed to investigate the grain evolution of superalloys with high Co addition and showed that slow strained DC was preferred to obtain a well-distributed grain structure after supersolvus annealing, owing to its adequate dynamical recrystallization (DRX) and dynamical recovery (DRV) during deformation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanism of grain refinement in an equiatomic medium-entropy alloy CrCoNi during hot deformation
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the mechanism of grain refinement during hot deformation on medium-entropy alloy (MEA), especially for CrCoNi, and found that the occurrence of continuous dynamic recrystallization during hot deblurring of MEA alloy has been proved as the dominating mechanism for grain refinement.
Journal ArticleDOI
Controlling grain size via dynamic recrystallization in an advanced polycrystalline nickel base superalloy
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed multi-pass compression experiments to investigate the flow stress behavior and grain size evolution in polycrystalline nickel base superalloy and found that the results unambiguously uncover the roles of DRX and static recrystallization in regulating grain size and affecting flow stress.
