Structural characterization and optical properties of nanometer-sized SnO2 capped by stearic acid

TL;DR: In this article, the structure and optical properties of nanometer-sized SnO2 capped by a layer of stearic acid were investigated using TEM, XRD, ESR, UV-visible absorption spectrum, photoluminescence spectra, IR absorption spectra and Z-scan techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical nonlinearities of Fe2O3 nanoparticles investigated by Z-scan technique

TL;DR: In this paper, a single beam Z-scan technique was used to measure the third-order nonlinear refractive index, γ, the two-photon absorption coefficient, s, and the variation of refractive indices per unit photoexcited carrier density σ r, and the free carrier absorption cross section σ ab for quantum-confined Fe 2 O 3 nanoparticles coated by a layer of organic molecular in toluene and bare particles in hydrosol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optical switching of 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl) benzoxazole in different solvents

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated all-optical switching and beam deflection of 2-(2′-hydroxyphenyl) benzoxazole (HBO) in three species of solvent (cyclohexane, ethanol and dimethyl sulfoxide) by using third-harmonic generation (355 nm) of a mode-locked Nd:YAG laser as a pump beam and a continuous-wave He-Ne laser (632.8 nm) as a probe beam.
Journal ArticleDOI

ZnO nanoparticles included within all-silica MCM-41: preparation and spectroscopic studies

TL;DR: In this article, ZnO nanoparticles have been successfully loaded in the all-silica molecular sieve MCM-41 and combined powder X-ray diffraction and infrared spectral measurements have been performed to detect the formation and dispersal of nanoparticles in the nanoporous channels host.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transient biphotonic holographic grating in photoisomerizative azo materials

TL;DR: In this paper, transient biphotonic holographic grating was studied theoretically and experimentally in trans-cis isomerization azo materials, and it was shown that the mechanism of the grating can be attributed to the redistribution of cis isomers induced by both the short-wavelength light and the long-wvelength light.
