Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced formation of 5-HMF from glucose using a highly selective and stable SAPO-34 catalyst
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used SAPO-34 as the sole catalyst for the conversion of hexoses to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) in γ-valerolactone (GVL).
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficient catalytic system for the direct transformation of lignocellulosic biomass to furfural and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural.
TL;DR: Under the optimum reaction conditions, simultaneously encouraging yields of furfural and 5-HMF were achieved at 448K, and SPTPA was found to exhibit superior catalytic ability in γ-valerolactone (GVL).
Journal ArticleDOI
Furfural production from biomass–derived carbohydrates and lignocellulosic residues via heterogeneous acid catalysts
TL;DR: In this article, different catalysts, such as montmorillonite, heteropolyacids, silicoaluminophosphates, and modified beta zeolites, were studied for catalysis of the conversion of biomass-derived carbohydrates and raw biomass into furfural in lactone solvents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly selective conversion of glucose into furfural over modified zeolites
TL;DR: In this paper, modified versions of zeolite beta containing iron, tin, or zirconium site were prepared from H-Beta via ion-exchanged route, and they were then used as catalysts for converting C6 carbohydrates to furfural in γ-valerolactone (GVL).
