Semi-quantum protocols that allow some of the users to remain classical are proposed for a large class of problems associated with secure communication and secure multiparty computation. Specifically, first-time semi-quantum protocols are proposed for key agreement, controlled deterministic secure communication and dialogue, and it is shown that the semi-quantum protocols for controlled deterministic secure communication and dialogue can be reduced to semi-quantum protocols for e-commerce and private comparison (socialist millionaire problem), respectively. Complementing with the earlier proposed semi-quantum schemes for key distribution, secret sharing and deterministic secure communication, set of schemes proposed here and subsequent discussions have established that almost every secure communication and computation tasks that can be performed using fully quantum protocols can also be performed in semi-quantum manner. Some of the proposed schemes are completely orthogonal-state-based, and thus, fundamentally different from the existing semi-quantum schemes that are conjugate coding-based. Security, efficiency and applicability of the proposed schemes have been discussed with appropriate importance.

In the present research, vibration and instability of orthotropic graphene sheet subjected to thermo-magnetic fields are investigated. Orthotropic visco-Pasternak foundation is considered to analyze the influences of orthotropy angle, damping coefficient, normal and shear modulus. New first-order shear deformation theory is utilized due to accuracy of its polynomial functions compared to other theories of plate. Motion equations are obtained by means of Hamilton’s principle and then solved analytically. Influences of various parameters such as small scale, magnetic field, orthotropic viscoelastic surrounding medium, thickness and aspect ratio of single layer graphene sheet on the vibration characteristics of nanoplate are discussed in detail. The results indicate that the stability of single layer graphene sheet is strongly dependent on applied magnetic field. Orthotropic patterns of visco-Pasternak foundation in nonlocal vibration of orthotropic graphene sheet under thermo-magnetic fields based on new first-order shear deformation theory

Peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is found to be a significant role in multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Partial transmit sequence (PTS) is one of the effective methods to reduce the PAPR in OFDM signals. However, finding an optimum phase factor in PTS scheme is considered to be a significant issue. In order to overcome this problem, we use orthogonal initialization method to identify the initial population for enhanced Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. In addition, PTS technique uses exhaustive search method to find the better combination of phase factors. This would also increase the computational complexity of the system. In order to overcome this issue, a newly suboptimal method is also used in the enhanced ABC algorithm. Finally, we have combined the space time block coding (STBC) and the PTS based enhanced ABC algorithm to reduce the PAPR and bit error rate (BER). The orthogonal initialization method and suboptimal method in ABC algorithm greatly reduces the PAPR and BER in the OFDM system. MATLAB software is used to run this simulation.

Hybrid STBC-PTS with enhanced artificial bee colony algorithm for PAPR reduction in MIMO-OFDM system

A compact tri-band antenna is designed and analyzed to achieve both transmission and reception of direct broadcast service (DBS) and fixed satellite service (FSS) in Ku band. The proposed antenna design consists of a truncated E-shaped slot, eight rectangular slots, two C-shaped slots in the patch and eight defected ground structure (DGS) slots. The three frequency bands of 11.40–12.91 GHz, 13.86–14.53 GHz, and 17.20–17.86 GHz are achieved with impedance bandwidths of 12.32%, 4.73%, and 3.77%, respectively. Conversely, the measured frequency bands of 11.40–12.98 GHz, 14.21–14.86 GHz, and 17.41–18.98 GHz with the impedance bandwidth of 12.70%, 4.48%, and 8.63%, respectively, are obtained. The simulated results of the proposed antenna are compared with the results of fabricated antenna and are found to be satisfactory for reflection coefficient, impedance bandwidth, polarization, efficiency, gain, and radiation pattern. Moreover, the proposed antenna design can be used as an element in an array configuration to achieve high gain in both transmission and reception modes of FSS and DBS.
