Journal ArticleDOI
Oral carcinoma epidemiology in Paraná State, Southern Brazil
Roberta Losi-Guembarovski,Roberta Losi-Guembarovski,Rodrigo Paes de Menezes,Fernando Poliseli,Vivian Nappi Chaves,Hellen Kuasne,Andrei Leichsenring,Marcos Euzébio Maciel,Alda Losi Guembarovski,Benedito W. Oliveira,Gyl Ramos,Lauro Toyshi Mizuno,Iglenir J. Cavalli,Enilze Maria de Souza Fonseca Ribeiro,Ilce Mara de Syllos Cólus +14 more
TL;DR: The epidemiological, clinical, and histological characteristics of 91 patients with oral carcinoma were compared, and with the exception of the male/female ratio (which was higher), the data are consistent with previous studies on Oral carcinoma patients.
Journal Article
Lack of association among polymorphic xenobiotic-metabolizing enzyme genotypes and the occurrence and progression of oral carcinoma in a Brazilian population.
Roberta Losi-Guembarovski,Ilce Mara de Syllos Cólus,Rodrigo Paes de Menezes,Fernando Poliseli,Vivian Nappi Chaves,Hellen Kuasne,Andrei Leichsenring,Alda Losi Guembarovski,Benedito W. Oliveira,Gyl Ramos,Teresa C.S. Cavalcanti,Lauro Toyshi Mizuno,Iglenir J. Cavalli,Enilze Maria de Souza Fonseca Ribeiro +13 more
TL;DR: YP1A1, GSTM1 and GSTT1 polymorphisms do not appear to influence the genetic susceptibility to OSCC or the progression to more advanced stages.
Journal ArticleDOI
Possible association between TGF-β1 polymorphism and oral cancer.
Natália Ketelut Carneiro,Julie Massayo Maeda Oda,R. Losi Guembarovski,Gyl Ramos,Benedito Valdecir de Oliveira,Iglenir J. Cavalli,E. M. de S. F. Ribeiro,Marlene Silva Bardi Gonçalves,Maria Angelica Ehara Watanabe +8 more
TL;DR: The results suggested that the C allele could increase TGF‐β secretion which suppresses antitumour immune responses and may affect the OSCC risk.
