Journal ArticleDOI
Local staging of prostate cancer using magnetic resonance imaging: a meta-analysis.
Marc R. W. Engelbrecht,Gerrit J. Jager,Robert J.F. Laheij,André L. M. Verbeek,H.J.J. van Lier,Jelle O. Barentsz +5 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that turbo spin echo, endorectal coil, and multiple imaging planes improve staging performance, and studies with small sample sizes may result in higher staging performance.
Journal ArticleDOI
An index of inflammatory activity in patients with Crohn's disease.
TL;DR: An objective and quantitative standard of inflammatory activity for patients with Crohn's disease was developed and the combination of variables expressed in a score that was used as an activity index proved to be very useful in the assessment of disease activity and of the effect of therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of methotrexate with placebo in the treatment of systemic sclerosis: a 24 week randomized double-blind trial, followed by a 24 week observational trial
F.H.J. van den Hoogen,A. M. T. Boerbooms,A. J. G. Swaak,Johannes J. Rasker,H.J.J. van Lier,L. B. A. Van De Putte +5 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that in a group of patients with active systemic sclerosis, low-dose MTX seems to be more effective than placebo according to pre-defined response criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of sulphasalazine in patients with active Crohn's disease: a controlled double-blind study.
P. A. M. van Hees,H.J.J. van Lier,P H van Elteren,M Driessen,R. A. van Hogezand,G P Ten Velde,J H Bakker,J. H. M. Van Tongeren +7 more
TL;DR: The response of active Crohn's disease to sulphasalazine was significantly better than to placebo and has been studied in a placebo-controlled trial.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fever of unknown origin (FUO) II. Diagnostic procedures in a prospective multicenter study of 167 patients
TL;DR: As shown in this study, the search for PDCs remains an important tool for establishing the diagnosis in patients with FUO, although in many cases these P DCs appear to be misleading.
