Reliability evaluation of a natural circulation system

TL;DR: In this paper, a reliability study performed with reference to a passive thermohydraulic natural circulation (NC) system, named TTL-1, was performed with the main purpose to optimize the system design.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prediction of dryout and post-dryout wall temperatures using film thickness model

TL;DR: In this paper, a model for calculating dryout and post-dryout wall temperature for two phase flow in a vertical tube using film thickness model is presented, based on the mass and energy balance equations for vapor core, liquid film and corresponding closure laws for interface transfer processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new numerical method for solution of boiling flow using combination of SIMPLE and Jacobian-free Newton-Krylov algorithms

TL;DR: In this article, an efficient and stable numerical approach is developed in which a different combination of Jacobian-free Newton-Krylov (JFNK) and SIMPLE methods are introduced for solution of two-phase flow in both steady state and transient conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A mathematical approach to predict dryout in a rod bundle

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a mathematical model to predict dryout in a rod bundle using film thickness model and subchannel analysis, where the transfer of mass, momentum and energy between adjacent subchannels are split into diversion cross-flow, turbulent mixing and void drift components.
