Journal ArticleDOI

Macrofaunal recovery following TBT ban. Long-term recovery of subtidal macrofaunal communities in relation to declining levels of TBT contamination.

TL;DR: The changes in the macro-infaunal communities along the Crouch Estuary in relation to declining TBT concentrations between 1987 and 2005 are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of selected indicators in evaluating the consequences of dredged material relocation and marine aggregate extraction

TL;DR: Number of species and number of individuals generally scored highest in terms of understandability, sensitivity and linkage to the human activity whilst biotic indices were assigned relatively low scores, particularly in relation to aggregate extraction activities, according to the same criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Surveys of the epibenthos of the Crouch Estuary (UK) in relation to TBT contamination

TL;DR: A transect survey of the estuary of the River Crouch, south-east England, was carried out in 1987 and 1989, and again in 1992 as discussed by the authors to describe and quantify the subtidal epifauna at a time of high ambient tributyltin (TBT) concentrations, arising from the use of tin-based anti-fouling paints on the hulls of moored pleasure craft.
