Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical chemistry and near infrared spectroscopy: technology for non-invasive glucose monitoring

TL;DR: In this article, a straightforward spectral variable selection based on choices from the optimum partial least squares (PLS) regression vector yields better results than using PLS calibration models with full spectrum evaluation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bio-analytical applications of mid-infrared spectroscopy using silver halide fiber-optic probes

TL;DR: Progress in the quality of infrared silver halide fibers enabled us to construct several flexible fiber-optic probes of different geometries, which are particularly suitable for the measurement of small biosamples, and an example is given.
Journal ArticleDOI

Attenuated total reflection mid-infrared spectroscopy for clinical chemistry applications using silver halide fibers

TL;DR: In this article, attenuated total reflection mid-infrared spectroscopy based on silver halide fibers is used for quantitative analysis of biotic fluids, and the advantages and prospects of this technique using biofluids or dry films, obtained from such aqueous solutions, are discussed in the context of developing routine assay methodology for the analysis of biofluid submitted to the clinical laboratory for analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multivariate calibration for protein, cholesterol and triglycerides in human plasma using short-wave near infrared spectrometry

TL;DR: In this article, the in-vitro analysis of several blood substrates in human blood plasma using multivariate calibration by partial-least squares is presented for 125 hospital samples.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel developments in mid-IR fiber-optic spectroscopy for analytical applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the attenuated total reflection (ATR) was used for mid-infrared spectroscopy of liquid and inhomogeneous solid samples with a minimum spot size of 20μm×60μm.
