Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of solvents and adsorbents on dermal and intestinal absorption of TCDD

TL;DR: Accumulation of the (radiolabelled) compound in the liver was found to provide a good and reproducible method of comparing TCDD uptake from different formulations, and inhibiting effects of soil and activated carbon almost completely prevented uptake of the compound.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure elucidation of mammalian TCDD-metabolites.

TL;DR: In this article, 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) was isolated and examined by combined gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
Journal ArticleDOI

Biological degradation of TCDD in rats.

TL;DR: Tritiated TCDD is used to search for metabolites in the bile of rats and marked changes in lipophilicity and mobility in TLC of the excreted radioactivity are found, hinting at the formation of phenolic hydroxyl groups in the dioxin molecule.
Journal ArticleDOI

The metabolism of some pentachlorodibenzofurans in the rat.

TL;DR: All three pentachlorodibenzofurans followed a common metabolic pathway but differed in the distribution of the metabolites, which were formed from all three penta-CDFs by aromatic hydroxylation or by hydrolytic dechlorination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acute oral toxicity of TCDD-metabolites in male guinea pigs.

TL;DR: Acute oral toxicity studies in male guinea pigs indicate a detoxification of 2,3,7,8-tetrachloro-dibenzo- p -dioxin (TCDD) in dogs by liver metabolism by means of liver metabolism and not clinical alterations nor gross pathological or histological changes in the principal TCDD target organs.
