Journal ArticleDOI

Formation, stability and structure of palladium-silicon based alloy glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the glass-liquid transition was exhibited thermally by both binary and ternary alloys, and the stability, ease of formation and glass transition temperature, Tg, of the glasses were all increased by the replacement of Pd with small concentrations of the noble metals.
Journal ArticleDOI

The specific heat of tin and gallium in their stable and undercooled pure liquid states

TL;DR: In this paper, the specific heat of tin and gallium in their pure liquid state over the temperature range from 632 for tin and 611 gallium to 425 and 245K, corresponding to undercoolings of 80 and 58K respectively have been measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formation and stability of amorphous alloys of Au-Ge-Si

TL;DR: In this article, it was found that the addition of gold to the eutectic alloy increases the resistance of the amorphous alloy to crystallization, which is attributed to a decreasing rate of crystallization of the metastable γ phase with excess of gold.
