Analysing non-linear systems in the frequency domain--I. The transfer function

TL;DR: In this paper, both continuous and discrete time transfer functions of nonlinear systems are analyzed and interpreted in the frequency domain by investigating the properties and graphical representation of these functions, and the contributions that typical terms from non-linear time domain models make to the transfer functions are illustrated to provide a better understanding of the frequency response behavior of complex nonlinear dynamic systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysing non-linear systems in the frequency domain--II. The phase response

TL;DR: In this paper, the phase response function is analyzed and interpreted to provide a clear understanding of phase Non-linear systems which include delay elements are also discussed and simulations of both continuous and discrete time nonlinear systems are included to demonstrate the concepts involved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Computation of non-linear transfer functions when constant terms are present

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-linear transfer function from a general class of nonlinear rational models in which a constant term is included is derived and a new mapping is derived to obtain the nonlinear transfer functions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unwrapping the phase response functions for non-linear systems

TL;DR: In this paper, two new algorithms are introduced to overcome these problems by unwrapping the multidimensional non-linear phase, which is shown to be much easier to interpret and details of the implementation together with examples illustrating the new techniques are included.
