Observation of Floquet-Bloch States on the Surface of a Topological Insulator
TL;DR: Using time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, it is shown that an intense ultrashort midinfrared pulse with energy below the bulk band gap hybridizes with the surface Dirac fermions of a topological insulator to form Floquet-Bloch bands.
Journal ArticleDOI
Control over topological insulator photocurrents with light polarization.
TL;DR: It is shown that illuminating the topological insulator Bi(2)Se(3) with circularly polarized light generates a photocurrent that originates from topological helical Dirac fermions, and that reversing the helicity of the light reverses the direction of the photocurrent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrically tunable surface-to-bulk coherent coupling in topological insulator thin films
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied coherent electronic transport in charge-density-tunable microdevices patterned from thin films of the topological insulator (TI) Bi${}_{2}$Se${}_3}$.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spin-charge separation and localization in one dimension.

TL;DR: In this article, measurements of quantum many-body modes in ballistic wires and their dependence on Coulomb interactions, obtained by tunneling between two parallel wires in an GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure while varying electron density, were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exchange-coupling-induced symmetry breaking in topological insulators.
Peng Wei,Ferhat Katmis,Badih A. Assaf,Hadar Steinberg,Pablo Jarillo-Herrero,Don Heiman,Jagadeesh S. Moodera +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, proximity-induced ferromagnetism was demonstrated in a topological insulator, combining a ferromagnetic insulator EuS layer with Bi(2)Se(3), without introducing defects.
