Journal ArticleDOI
TNF alpha and the TNF receptor superfamily: structure-function relationship(s).
TL;DR: The structure/function relationships of the TNFα and the T NF receptor superfamily are reviewed and insights as to how structural features play a role in the pleiotropic effects of TNF α are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of volume-activated chloride channels by P-glycoprotein: phosphorylation has the final say!
TL;DR: The possible regulation of chloride channels by Pgp and the potential involvement of reversible phosphorylation in such regulation is reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Man to Trypanosome: The tubulin tyrosination/detyrosination cycle revisited
Journal ArticleDOI
Phosphorylation of tubulin tyrosine ligase: a potential mechanism for regulation of alpha-tubulin tyrosination.
TL;DR: Evidence is presented suggesting that the cycle itself is under the hierarchical control of reversible phosphorylation and that PKC mediatedosphorylation of TTL inhibits its activity, thereby preventing tubulin tyrosination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Do TNF-α-Insensitive Cancer Cells Escape α-Tubulin Nitrotyrosination?
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed that tumor cells that are resistant to the effects of TNF-alpha may be so because of suppressed levels of "tubulin tyrosine ligase", which is responsible for the posttranslational tyrosination of alpha-tubulin.
