Automated determination of iron in seawater by chelating resin concentration and chemiluminescence detection
TL;DR: In this paper, a shipboard analytical method for determining iron(III) in seawater was developed based on a combination of selective column extraction using chelating resin and improved chemiluminescence (CL) detection in a closed flowthrough system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fundamental studies for chemical speciation of iron in seawater with an improved analytical method
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors improved the analytical methods for determining iron in seawater, based on the established procedure, and carried out fundamental studies for chemical speciation of iron The blank value of the system used was ∼ 005 n M and the detection limit (3 SD) was 001 n M.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal Structure of Clostridium perfringens Enterotoxin Displays Features of β-Pore-forming Toxins
Kengo Kitadokoro,Kousuke Nishimura,Shigeki Kamitani,Aya Fukui-Miyazaki,Hirono Toshima,Hiroyuki Abe,Yoichi Kamata,Yoshiko Sugita-Konishi,Shigeki Yamamoto,Hajime Karatani,Yasuhiko Horiguchi +10 more
TL;DR: The structure of CPE determined by x-ray crystallography at 2.0 Å implies that CPE is a β-pore-forming toxin, and it is hypothesized that the transmembrane domain is inserted into the membrane upon the buckling of the two long β-strands spanning the module.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal structure of cutinase Est119 from Thermobifida alba AHK119 that can degrade modified polyethylene terephthalate at 1.76 Å resolution
Kengo Kitadokoro,Uschara Thumarat,Ryota Nakamura,Kousuke Nishimura,Hajime Karatani,Hideyuki Suzuki,Fusako Kawai +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the crystal structure of a cutinase from Thermobifida alba AHK119 (Est119) was determined at a resolution of 1.76 A. The overall structure displays a typical α/β-hydrolase fold consisting of a central twisted β-sheet of nine β-strands that are flanked by nine α-helices on both sides.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preconcentration of chromium(III) and chromium(VI) in sea water by complexation with quinolin-8-ol and adsorption on macroporous resin
TL;DR: In this article, a column packed with macroporous polystyrene-divinylbenzene resin after complexation with quinolin-8-ol was used for the determination of chromium(III) and chromium-VI in sea water by graphite furnace AAS.
