Journal ArticleDOI

The major sources of gas flaring and air contamination in the natural gas processing plants: A case study

TL;DR: In this article, the authors highlight potential and critical situations, identifying the proper mitigation and focusing on the sources of flaring and contamination to reduce the generation of wastes from the gas processing plants of a domestic natural gas field in Iran.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mathematical modeling and simulation of an industrial rotary dryer: A case study of ammonium nitrate plant

TL;DR: In this article, a rotary dryer is used in ammonium nitrate (AN) plant located at Shiraz Petrochemical Complex (SPC), which is designed to produce 650 metric tons of final products in a day.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of van der Waals force cut-off distance on adhesive collision parameters in DEM simulation

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the cut-off distance on the collision probability of a single particle against a flat surface has been investigated and an expression for the minimum velocity under which the particle remains adhered to the surface (critical velocity) was derived.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simulation and feasibility analysis of structured packing replacement in absorption column of natural gas dehydration process: A case study for Farashband gas processing plant, Iran

TL;DR: In this article, a computer program, prepared with Visual Basic, has been proposed to calculate the height equivalent to a theoretical plate (HETP) of structured packing, and the cost of the modification project for the absorption column in the Farashband gas processing plant was calculated.
Journal ArticleDOI

CFD modelling of flow mal-distribution in an industrial ammonia oxidation reactor: A case study

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code to simulate the flow distribution inside the ammonia oxidation reactor at Shiraz Petrochemical Complex (SPC) and found that mal-distribution of gas flow inside the reactor can directly affect the performance of the reactor.
