Excitation Energy Transport Processes of Porphyrin Monomer, Dimer, Cyclic Trimer, and Hexamer Probed by Ultrafast Fluorescence Anisotropy Decay

TL;DR: These cyclic porphyrin array systems have proven to be useful in understanding energy migration processes in a relatively weak interaction regime in light of the similarity in overall structures and constituent chromophores to natural light-harvesting arrays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-Duplex Formation of an APy-Substituted Oligodeoxyadenylate and Its Unique Fluorescence

TL;DR: Unexpected homoadenine self-duplexes are formed when pyrene units are bound covalently to the deoxyadenosine bases at specific distances (1,4 relationships).
Journal ArticleDOI

Noncollinear phase matching in fluorescence upconversion.

TL;DR: This work investigates noncollinear sum-frequency generation in a time-resolved fluorescence upconversion experiment to eliminate group-velocity mismatch (GVM), a major mechanism that deteriorates time resolution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrafast transient dynamics of Zn(II) porphyrins: Observation of vibrational coherence by controlling chirp of femtosecond pulses

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors obtained detailed information on the excited state dynamics and subsequent structural changes based on the comparison between the frequency spectra retrieved from the oscillatory features in the transient absorption and fluorescence temporal profiles and the ground stat...
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of conformational heterogeneity on excitation energy transfer efficiency in directly meso-meso linked Zn(II) porphyrin arrays

TL;DR: It is revealed that the solvation dynamics as well as the conformational dynamics contributes significantly to the energy relaxation processes of linear porphyrin arrays, which no longer serve as good energy transmission elements in donor-acceptor linked systems.
