Journal ArticleDOI

Insights into compositional changes of dissolved organic matter during a full-scale vermicomposting of cow dung by combined spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques.

TL;DR: The physicochemical characteristics of vermicompost were superior to those of the control, indicating that verMicomposting significantly accelerated the humification process, which was confirmed by spectroscopic and electrochemical analyses.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nitrification plays a key role in N2O emission in electric-field assisted aerobic composting.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that electric field application inhibited nitrification, weakened the nitrifying functional genes, and increased the N2O consumption-related gene (nosZ) in EAAC, implying that EAAC is a promising process for mitigating N 2O emission at the source during aerobic composting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pollution characteristics and sources of environmentally persistent free radicals and oxidation potential in fine particulate matter related to city lockdown (CLD) in Xi'an, China

TL;DR: In this article , the authors highlighted the characteristics and sources of OP and the new health risk substances environmentally persistent free radicals (EPFRs) in comparison to city lockdown (CLD) with early days of 2019-2020.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced degradation of microplastics during sludge composting via microbially-driven Fenton reaction.

TL;DR: In this paper , an iron-mineral-supplemented thermophilic composting (imTC) is proposed and demonstrated for enhancing in situ degradation of sludge-based microplastics through strengthening •OH generation.
