The organization of behavior: A neuropsychological theory

Using the characteristics of T cell mitogen called lectin protein from the jack-beam Canavalia ensiformis Concanavalin A (Con_A) with dual activities, cytotoxicity and immunomodulation , we have shown it has a therapeutic effect on hepatoma. Injection of Con_A can eradicate the established malign tumor, because Con_A can induce tumor cell autophagic, cell-programmed death, as well as activate the effector T cells. Combined, in this paper, with the absorption exceeding the Carbon NanoTube (CNT) band-gap ( H bg =~1/CNT diameter) with an active short wave near-infrared (SWIR) (1.2~1.5 micron wavelengths), which happened to be translucent to the irradiation upon animal skin, similar to that used in hospital fingertip-clamped Pulse Oxymetry. Once the Con_A-CNT is guided to hepatoma cells, it is bonded and internalized into the mitochondria (MC) compartment, the cellular energy fact ory. Con_A has the higher specifi city for tumor cells useful for targeting because of the abnorma l glycosylation on tumor cells. Wh en CNT was hitchhiked with and guided by Con_A, they could be together internalized to malign cells, and acted like a laser-denotable chemical missile surgically targeting at the tumor cells. We switch on SWIR laser, when the Con_A-CNT conjugated complex ha s been bonded and internalized to MC of malign cells and already commenced cellular programmed death. Thus, it might appear to casual readers that we have initiated an overkill, chemical drugged autophage followe d with physical laser ablation, but what if we can eradicate hepatoma totally if no blue print is left behind inadvertently in case of a partial failure. We conclude that using Con_A-CNT conjugated complex ta rgeting specifically at malign tumor cells is a novel targeted-laser-radiation therapy for tumors in mice. INTRODUCTION The current radiation treatment for tumor is not fully satisfactory, the major drawback being the fatal relapse after surgery or chemotherapy treatment. Relatively speaking, tumor cells is not immunogenic and can not induce effective anti-tumor immun ity, instead, immunosuppressi ve status is estab lished prior to and during tumor growth. And therefore it suppresses th e generation of the anti-tumor immunity [1-3]. We have established an in situ hepatoma model for the evaluation of any anti-tumor reagent [4]. Tactical battlefield surveillance systems will require the transmission of compressed video images to utilize these systems limited communication bandwidth and data capacity. The compression techniques used will result in some loss of information.It is important to assess the quality of the video output to determine its performance in Aided Target Recognition applications. The traditional rate of distortion formula is shown by Mallet to be inappropriate for wavelet compression in high compression ratios. The reason is that the histogram change form all gray scale to a concentration singularity near the origin of very low bit rate such that the discrete approximation of the density function of the histogram is no longer valid. Thus we can not theoretically predict the distortion due to wavelet compression. Therefore we conduct an empirical investigation to evaluate the spatial and temporal effects of lossy wavelet compression and reconstruction on tactical IR video. We quantify a resultant temporal ensemble of all local variation curves within a transmitted video frame when compared to the original video frame, using local peak signal-to-noise ratio and feature persistence measure developed by Szu et al. and objective assessment techniques developed by the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences, US Department of Commerce to asses video impairment. We therefore measure video degradation rather than absolute video quality which is difficult to quantify. We also evaluate the comparison results in a movie using split screen presentation of the original and reconstructed video frames and their corresponding metric performance to enhance visual inspection of motion cues enhancement of edge texture maps.

Yahoo, Google and Microsoft use lookup tables or indexes which limits the ability of users to find their desired information. While these companies have improved their results over the years by enhancing their existing technology and algorithms with specialized heuristics such as PageRank, there is a need for a next generation smart search engine that can effectively interpret the relevance of user searches and provide the actual information requested. This paper explores whether a smarter Internet search engine can effectively fulfill a user's needs through the use of 6W representations.

In this work, we apply adaptive version independent component analysis (ADAPTIVE ICA) to the nonlinear measurement of electro-cardio-graphic (ECG) signals for potential detection of abnormal conditions in the heart. In principle, unsupervised ADAPTIVE ICA neural networks can demix the components of measured ECG signals. However, the nonlinear pre-amplification and post measurement processing make the linear ADAPTIVE ICA model no longer valid. This is possible because of a proposed adaptive rectification pre-processing is used to linearize the preamplifier of ECG, and then linear ADAPTIVE ICA is used in iterative manner until the outputs having their own stable Kurtosis. We call such a new approach adaptive ADAPTIVE ICA. Each component may correspond to individual heart function, either normal or abnormal. Adaptive ADAPTIVE ICA neural networks have the potential to make abnormal components more apparent, even when they are masked by normal components in the original measured signals. This is particularly important for diagnosis well in advance of the actual onset of heart attack, in which abnormalities in the original measured ECG signals may be difficult to detect.
