Journal ArticleDOI

Lack of homology between two haloacetate dehalogenase genes encoded on a plasmid from Moraxella sp. strain B.

TL;DR: The dehalogenases H-1 and H-2 have no enzyme-evolutionary relationship, and the deduced amino acid sequence of the dehH1 gene showed significant similarity to those of three hydrolases of Pseudomonas putida and a haloalkane dehalagenase of Xanthobacter autotrophicus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Esterification of ferulic acid with polyols using a ferulic acid esterase from Aspergillus niger.

TL;DR: The enzyme responsible for the esterification was purified and characterized, and was found to be quite similar to an A. niger ferulic acid esterase (FAE-III) in terms of molecular mass, pH and temperature optima, substrate specificity on synthetic substrates, and the N-terminal amino acid sequence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reaction Mechanism of Fluoroacetate Dehalogenase from Moraxella sp. B

TL;DR: Results suggest that His-272 probably acts as a base catalyst for the hydrolysis of the covalent ester intermediate in the dehalogenation of fluoroacetate and other haloacetates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Purification and properties of two type-B α-l-arabinofuranosidases produced by Penicillium chrysogenum

TL;DR: Two distinct extracellular alpha-L-arabinofuranosidases (AFases; EC 3.55) were purified from the culture filtrate of Penicillium chrysogenum 31B and displayed broad substrate specificities; they released arabinose from branched arabinan, debranchedArabinan), arabinoxylan, arabinogalactan, and arabino-oligosaccharides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Purification and Properties of Haloacetate Halidohydrolase Specified by Plasmid from Moraxella sp. Strain B

TL;DR: Haloacetate halidohydrolase II specified by a plasmid pUO1 was purified from halo acetate-assimilating Moraxella sp.
