Lint settles on the plate surfaces. According to the inventive method, this is flushed from the plates (4) by means of at least some of the condensate which occurs. For this purpose, the condensation-water separator designed as a heat exchanger (1) is provided with a laundry-lint flush-out device (10). The invention makes it possible for the operator, without much effort, to remove the lint from the condensation-water separator designed as a heat exchanger.
