A Doppler radar module constructed using micro-stripline technology is used in motion sensors and includes a local oscillator stabilized with a dielectric resonator that feeds a microwave antenna via a mixer that is connected in series. The transmission signal is emitted from the microwave antenna and is reflected back from an object where it is received by the antenna and forwarded to the mixer. The mixer mixes the reflected signal with a portion of the oscillator signal to form a Doppler signal.

In a wired remote control for use with a television receiver, audio signals are coupled to a loudspeaker by a transformer providing electrical isolation. The remote control device comprises an oscillator applying a signal at a frequency above the audio range to the transformer and a rectifier at the transformer secondary converting the oscillator signal to a DC signal. That DC signal is selectively applied by a switch to an optocoupler which couples to a control device for controlling the audio source. A filter blocks the oscillator signal from the speaker. Additionally, the control device controls TV channel selection.

A local oscillator (2) which is stabilized using a dielectric resonator (1) supplies a microwave antenna (5) via a series-connected mixer (3, 4). The microwave antenna (5) emits a transmitted signal, and the signal reflected back and received from an object is fed via the antenna (5) to the mixer (3, 4) and is mixed with the element of the oscillator signal used for the mixing process, to form the Doppler signal.

The invention relates to a power supply unit for data viewing devices, which, from a main alternating voltage produces at least one d.c. voltage for the operation of the data viewing device, where the power supply unit is in the form of a switching power supply unit and contains an oscillator which produces signals which determine the switching frequency of the switching power supply unit and where the data viewing device contains a pulse generator which, in order to produce an image on a screen, produces timing pulses of a given repetition frequency and a given duration. More particularly, the control stage for a switching power supply unit of a data viewing device having a display screen includes a free-running oscillator whose frequency is synchronized by timing pulses from a pulse generator. These pulses are of a predetermined repetition frequency and a given duration. The oscillator is preferably an astable multivibrator. The output signal of the oscillator is pulse modulated and fed to the base of a switching transistor in the power supply circuit. A separator stage such as an optical coupling element or transformer, is provided in the circuit between the pulse generator and the oscillator. The oscillator may contain an amplifier provided with a positive feedback and a negative feedback and which oscillator has its control input connected to the non-inverting input of the amplifier. The non-inverting input of the amplifier preferably includes a capacitor.

Power supply unit for data viewing devices

A small coil for use as a surface mounted device on circuit boards has windings (4) connected to end sections formed (2B) for soldered connections to the board. The coil former is produced as two parts with a temp. resistant base (5) and a top section (6). The top section of the former is produced of a material such as wax or plastics which can be warmed during the soldering process to allow the form to change and so permits adjustment of the inductance value. ADVANTAGE - Simple means of adjusting inductance even after being mounted.

The circuit has an oscillator generating a frequency in a microwave range, a resonator (2) for the frequency stabilising, and an aerial coupled to the oscillator, simultaneously suitable for reflected signal reception for a receiver. By mixing with the oscillator frequency and following low pass filtering, a movement signal can be tapped at the aerial. The oscillator and receiver contain a single, common, active switch (1), whose load path contains a voltage )source for the current supply. The aerial (4) is coupled to the control circuit of the active switch. Pref. the latter has a control terminal and two other terminals for specified connections. ADVANTAGE - Improved efficiency w.r.t. reflected signal without increased cost.
