TL;DR: In this paper, the results of an investigation of the Weichselian Upper Pleniglacial loess sequences of Nussloch (Rhine Valley, Germany) based on stratigraphy, palaeopedology, sedimentology, palynology, malacology and geochemistry (δ 13 C), supported by radiocarbon, TL and OSL dating are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early Evidence of Acheulean Settlement in Northwestern Europe - La Noira Site, a 700 000 Year-Old Occupation in the Center of France
Marie-Hélène Moncel,Jackie Despriée,Pierre Voinchet,Hélène Tissoux,Davinia Moreno,Jean-Jacques Bahain,Gilles Courcimault,Christophe Falguères +7 more
TL;DR: The lithic assemblage from la Noira provides behavioral and technological data on early Acheulean occupation in Europe and contributes to the understanding of the diffusion of this tradition.
Journal ArticleDOI
ESR chronology of alluvial deposits and first human settlements of the Middle Loire Basin (Region Centre, France)
Pierre Voinchet,Jackie Despriée,Hélène Tissoux,Christophe Falguères,Jean-Jacques Bahain,Robert Gageonnet,Jean Dépont,Jean-Michel Dolo +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the evolution of fluvial systems and the human settlements of this area during Lower and Middle Pleistocene were investigated using electron spin resonance (ESR) data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lower and Middle Pleistocene human settlements recorded in fluvial deposits of the middle Loire River Basin, Centre Region, France
Jackie Despriée,Pierre Voinchet,Hélène Tissoux,Jean-Jacques Bahain,Christophe Falguères,Gilles Courcimault,Jean Dépont,Marie-Hélène Moncel,Sophie Robin,Marta Arzarello,Robert Sala,Laurent Marquer,Erwan Messager,Simon Puaud,Salah Abdessadok +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, 80 prehistoric sites have been discovered in the alluvial deposits of the rivers Creuse, Cher, and Loir, tributaries of the middle Loire River, over the period since 1981.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potential use of Ti-center in ESR dating of fluvial sediment
Hélène Tissoux,Christophe Falguères,Pierre Voinchet,Shin Toyoda,Jean-Jacques Bahain,Jackie Despriée +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the titanium centers of quartz (Ti-Li and Ti-H) were used to date fluvial sediments, together with the aluminum-center (Al), and the response of these centers to the light from a solar simulator suggests that these centers are sensitive only to the UV component of the sunlight.
