Endocytosis via galactose receptors in vivo. Ligand size directs uptake by hepatocytes and/or liver macrophages.
Jutta Schlepper-Schäfer,Dorothea Hülsmann,Assadollah Djovkar,Helmut E. Meyer,Lothar Herbertz,Hubert Kolb,Victoria Kolb-Bachofen +6 more
TL;DR: In vivo uptake by liver macrophages is mediated by galactose-specific recognition as shown by inhibition with GalNAc, while N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) is without effect and GlNAc showed no inhibitory effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of major ERK-related phosphorylation sites in Gab1.
Stefan Lehr,Jorg Kotzka,Haluk Avci,Albert Sickmann,Helmut E. Meyer,and Armin Herkner,Dirk Müller-Wieland +6 more
TL;DR: Examination of extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 (ERK) specific serine/threonine phosphorylation of the entire Gab1 engaged in insulin signaling demonstrates that ERK1/2 modulate insulin action via Gab1 by targeting serine and threonine residues beside YXXM motifs.

Proteinase inhibitors for treating and diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases
TL;DR: In this paper, a medicament containing (serine)proteinase inhibitors, such as alpha-1-antitrypsin, for preventing, treating and diagnosing neurodegenerative diseases was described.
