Reduced apoprotein B and increased lipoprotein turnover in cholesterol-fed rabbits after partial ileal bypass.
Cesare R. Sirtori,Giancarlo Ghiselli,Alberico L. Catapano,M. R. Lovati,C. Fragiacomo,U. Fox,G. Majone,Henry Buchwald +7 more
TL;DR: A very early reduction of the apoprotein B percentage content in both VLDL and LDL was observed after the procedure, even when a relative cholesterol ester enrichment of these lipoproteins was still present.
Journal Article
Positive results of jejunoileal bypass surgery: emphasis on lipids with comparison to gastric bypass.
TL;DR: The positive results of jejunoileal bypass are briefly reviewed: significant weight reduction, lowering of blood pressure, mitigation of diabetes, improved physical functions, amelioration of osteoarthritis and thrombophlebitis, and improved self-esteem and socialization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Portable data acquisition and control apparatus for implanted drug infusion pump interrogation.
TL;DR: The authors recently created a portable interrogation unit with more limited features for diagnosing suspected pump failures, consisting of a 32 bit MS-DOS labtop computer, data acquisition software, an analog/ASCII interface, a pressure transducer, and appropriate fluid conduits.
Patent
Device for Monitoring Size of Luminal Cavity
Henry Buchwald,Thomas J. O'Dea +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a system for measuring the size of a gastric lumen is described, which consists of two orthogonal ultrasonic transceiver modules, a microprocessor, and a transmitter in electrical communication with the microprocessor.
