TL;DR: I read your June 26-July 2, 2010 issue, cover-to-cover, reviewed the cited references, and carefully studied The Lancet editorial, and there was not one mention of metabolic/ bariatric surgery, the only proven method of resolving the clinical and laboratory manifestations of type 2 diabetes in about 80% of patients.
