Effective quality improvement has become a potentially valuable way of securing competitive advantage and improving organizational performance. This research conceptualizes and develops a framework that links quality, competitive advantage, and organizational performance. Data for the study were collected from 74 organizations and the relationships proposed in the framework were tested using structural equation modelling. The results indicate that quality improvement can lead to enhanced competitive advantage and improved organizational performance. The contribution of the paper is that it provides empirical support for direct and indirect effects of quality on organizational performance and competitive advantage in Tunisia.

Impact of quality on competitive advantage and organizational performance

The paper argued that the challenges experienced in Nigerian textile manufacturing firms resulted from weak strategic entrepreneurship leading to alarming decline in the industry’s performance. Thus, investigated competitive advantage nexus with strategic entrepreneurship (strategic flexibility, adaptability, innovation, strategic leadership, risk taking and dynamic capabilities) as proxies in Lagos State, Nigeria. A cross-sectional survey research design was used and primary data collected. The adapted questionnaire validity was established through confirmatory factor analysis while the reliability was ascertained through internal consistency test. The population consists of 253 senior management staff and total enumeration was used. A total of 253 copies of the questionnaire were administered but 237 copies reverted. Descriptive statistics, exploratory analysis and structural equation model were utilized to analyse the data.

Driving Competitive Advantage: The Role of Strategic Entrepreneurship in Textile Manufacturing Firms in Lagos State, Nigeria

The study investigates the existence of a fintech entity that effect sustainable bank performance through competitive advantage and introduces a new fintech entity as an antecedent of competitive advantage and performance. Analysis of the causes of disturbance of the performance uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. The study uses 59 questionnaires returned from all 70 bank financial managers as a National Commercial Bank Association member. Five informants were selected from the Central Bank of Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority, the Indonesian Fintech Association, a bank business player, and the Commercial Bank Association Management. Using Partial Least Square, the results show that the fintech entity can drive sustainable bank performance, directly and indirectly, through competitive advantage. The existence of fintech is a dominant factor for achieving performance. From the informants, the results show that collaboration with a fintech entity is necessary and initially, the banks in running a business based on a perspective of experience. Moreover, Informants predicted that fintech and competitive conditions would significantly influence performance in the present and the future. Leveraging Financial Technology Entity into Sustainable Bank Performance through a Competitive Advantage

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل أثر تبني تحليل محفظة الأعمال في تحقيق الميزة التنافسية للشركات الأردنية، وهي دراسة تحليلية لآراء الإدارة العليا في شركات التأمين الأردنية. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة، تم تطوير استبانة وزعت على أفراد عينة الدراسة. وبلغ عدد الاستمارات الموزعة (105) استمارات بنسبة (50%) من مجتمع الدراسة. 
توصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج من أهمها أن اهتمام شركات التأمين بتحليل محفظة الأعمال جاء بدرجة متوسطة، وأن مدى تبني تحليل محفظة الأعمال كان بدرجة متوسطة، وأن مستوى تبني شركات التأمين لاستراتيجيات الميزة التنافسية كان بدرجة متوسطة. وتبين وجود أثر ذي دلالة إحصائية لإجراء تحليل محفظة الأعمال في استراتيجيات الميزة التنافسية مجتمعة، وقد فسر تحليل محفظة الأعمال ما نسبته (73.8%) من التباين في استراتيجيات الميزة التنافسية، وجاء هذا الاثر مرتفعا في استراتيجية التركيز، تليها استراتيجية التميز، ثم استراتيجية القيادة بالتكلفة.
وأوصت الدراسة بالاهتمام المستمر بتحسين ممارسة إجراء تحليل محفظة الأعمال من خلال استحداث دوائر خاصة تعنى بهذه الممارسة تسمى دوائر محافظ الأعمال، كما أوصت بضرورة تعزيز تطبيق استراتيجيات تحقيق الميزة التنافسية (التكلفة، التميز، التركيز) من خلال الاستفادة من عمليات المقارنة المرجعية.

The purpose  of  this  research  is  to  determine  how  the  influence  of  entrepreneurial competency  on  business  performance  with  competitive  advantage  as  a  mediating  variable. The number  of  samples is  213  business  managers  of  creative  industry  in  the  craft  sector  in West  Sumatra-Indonesia.  The sampling  technique  used  is  sampling  area,  the  sample  is allocated  proportionally  to  the  potential  areas  of  the  creative  industries  of  West  Sumatra craft  sector,  including:  Sawah  Lunto  district,  Tanah  Datar,  50  Kota,  Agam,  Bukittinggi, Padang,  Padang  Panjang,  and  Pariaman.  Data  were  collected  through  questionnaires  and analyzed  by  Structural  Equation  Modeling  (SEM)  using  AMOS  software.  The results  of  the researchshow  that  entrepreneurial  competency  has  a  positive  and  significant  effect  on business  performance,  entrepreneurial  competency  has  a  positive  and  significant  effect  on competitive  advantage,  competitive  advantage  has  a  positive  and  significant  effect  on business  performance  and  competitive  advantage  is  the  mediating  effect  of  entrepreneurial competency and business performance.

Competitive Advantage Mediation Effect Between Entrepreneurial Competency and Business Performance Creative Industries in West Sumatera indonesia

This study aims to determine the indicators of entrepreneurial competency and compile the levels of entrepreneurial competency indicators needed from the highest to the lowest level. The research population is the creative industry SMEs in the culinary sector of the city of Padang, with a sample size of 86 managers of the creative industry SMEs in the culinary sector/traditional Padang restaurants, the research location being the city of Padang. This study uses a quantitative approach with the method of SEM and uses Amos as data processing, specifically Second Order Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The results showed the dimensions of entrepreneurial competence needed: conceptual, leadership, learning, opportunity, and personal. The highest level score of the entrepreneurial competence indicator is looking at problems from a positive perspective. The lowest score is recognizing one's strengths and weaknesses and adapting to opportunities and threats. This research is helpful as a reference for indicators of entrepreneurial competency needed for creative industry SMEs in the culinary sector in the city of Padang.
