Mixed reality : merging real and virtual worlds

Personality is a combination of various characteristics and qualities of an individual. It may be affected by the growth and evolution of one’s values, attributes, relationships with the community, personal memories of life events, habits, and skills. Behaviours and decisions of an individual are largely directed by his/her personality. Identification of such a personality trait can be performed based on an individual’s handwriting features. Handwriting may be unique for each person and a person’s nature, behaviour, and certain psychological aspects can be inferred based on it. It is introduced as the field of graphology, also called graphoanalysis, to analyze personality based on handwriting. We perceived that many researchers have worked on personality and/or behaviour identification based on handwriting, however, most of them were limited to a few numbers of features. According to graphology, there is a vast range of features of handwriting strokes which carry psychological characteristics of the writer. In this survey, we present links between handwriting and personality psychology and examine different mechanisms for features extraction to predict a writer’s personality. Psychologically supported handwriting features help to understand personality traits. The paper relates these features and encourages the use of computer-based graphology for personality prediction. It also discusses applications of graphology in various fields.

Survey on handwriting-based personality trait identification

Blink detection is an important technique in a variety of settings, including facial movement analysis and signal processing. However, automatic blink detection is very challenging because of the blink rate. This research work proposed a real-time method for detecting eye blinks in a video series. Automatic facial landmarks detectors are trained on a real-world dataset and demonstrate exceptional resilience to a wide range of environmental factors, including lighting conditions, face emotions, and head position. For each video frame, the proposed method calculates the facial landmark locations and extracts the vertical distance between the eyelids using the facial landmark positions. Our results show that the recognizable landmarks are sufficiently accurate to determine the degree of eye-opening and closing consistently. The proposed algorithm estimates the facial landmark positions, extracts a single scalar quantity by using Modified Eye Aspect Ratio (Modified EAR) and characterizing the eye closeness in each frame. Finally, blinks are detected by the Modified EAR threshold value and detecting eye blinks as a pattern of EAR values in a short temporal window. According to the results from a typical data set, it is seen that the suggested approach is more efficient than the state-of-the-art technique.

Adjusting eye aspect ratio for strong eye blink detection based on facial landmarks

Language is one of the fundamental factors that distinguish humans from animals. Language allows individuals to live together, help solve problems and position themselves as cultured beings. Language is a communication medium that aims to understand each particular ethnicity and nation. Language comprehension allows increased awareness and value of closeness between individuals in an area. However, a large number of languages seem to be the cause of difficulties and misunderstandings about the meaning of certain words. This research provides alternative solutions for solving these problems. This solution can provide convenience in the process of understanding the meaning of language words, especially Banjar Language, by recommending an application called “BandoAR”. BandoAR is a translator application from Banjar Language to Indonesian. This application can work as a real-time application without requiring input media such as text that must be typed using a good camera quality and has autofocus characteristics on the camera. This study emphasizes the process of detecting and tracer texts that exist in the Banjar community. This research is intended to see how Augmented Reality technology can be applied in the text without markers and has different font sizes, backgrounds, and distances. The results show that software for Android smartphones, as a media translator in real time, can be used in almost every type of smartphone. Based on internal trials and the results of 160 respondents, this application can attract users’ interest, can be applied in real life, and as an effort to preserve Banjar Language culture.

BandoAR: Real-Time Text Based Detection System Using Augmented Reality for Media Translator Banjar Language to Indonesian with Smartphone

The lack of recognition of the current Banjar language is one of the causes of knowledge and the introduction of children about the reduced Banjar language. In an attempt to recognize, introduce, and improve the re-knowledge of the Banjar language is to recommend the design and implementation of an educational game application called Bekantan Educational Game (BEG) containing material content and quizzes. Before this game application is used, it must be tested first. Test method used is black box testing, to test the functionality of game applications. Other tests are also conducted to obtain information about the material access frequency and reset quizzes by players. The result of black box testing is all the functionality in the BEG application in accordance with what is expected. The result of the frequency testing accessing the menu on BEG of Material Section is Wadai Banjar 2 Menu with 59 times, and the frequency reset on BEG of Quiz Section is a type of Drag and Drop quiz with 21 times and generate feedback from quiz in the form of final value with average 89.17%.

Design and Implementation of Bekantan Educational Game (BEG) as a Banjar Language Learning Media

Graphology is one of the psychology disciplines which aims to study the personality traits of individuals through interpretation of handwriting. We can get information of oneâ€™s personality through graphology. In addition, by using android based mobile device, graphology analysis could show oneâ€™s personality faster. This study was conducted by taking 42 samples of handwriting from different backgrounds. The feature used in this study was handwriting margin. Besides, Support Vector Machine method was employed to classify the result feature from extraction process. The result of this study showed the accurate average of the application reached 82.738%.

Personality Analysis through Handwriting Detection Using Android Based Mobile Device

Aplikasi kelas  online telah diterapkan di SMK Telkom Malang menggunakan  platform Google Classroom pada mata pelajaran Pemrograman Berorientasi Objek (PBO). Penggunaan  Google Classroom pada mata pelajaran PBO ditambahkan materi  chatbot pembelajaran  Java dari  Oracle Academy Java Foundation menggunakan platform Facebook Messenger sebagai media untuk membantu Guru dalam menyediakan materi kepada siswa diantaranya adalah materi dasar pemrograman  Java  dan penyajian item soal kuis. Pada model kuis yang disajikan  chatbot ini, antar siswa mendapat respon penyajian item soal yang berbeda dalam pengerjaan kuis tentang materi yang ditampilkan sesuai dengan  score tingkat kesulitan soal yang dikerjakan oleh siswa dengan metode  Organizing Exercise Items . Pada hasil ujicoba,  chatbot dapat memberikan semua respon dengan tepat kepada seluruh siswa yaitu tentang penyajian item soal dengan topik materi  Java Software Development sesuai tingkat kesulitan yang berbeda yaitu mudah, sedang dan sulit. Dengan demikian siswa dinyatakan dapat berinteraksi dengan  chatbot sebagai media belajar yang dapat membantu guru dalam memberikan fasilitas belajar kepada siswa sesuai tingkat pemahaman materi soal pada pembelajaran Java. Adanya  chatbot yang dibangun diharapkan dapat memberikan solusi kepada guru serta berkontribusi positif  saat proses pembelajaran oleh siswa yang diintegrasikan pada kelas  online tanpa batasan ruang, waktu dan jumlah siswa. Abstract Online class application has been applied in SMK Telkom Malang using Google Classroom platform on Object Oriented Programming subjects (OOP). Google Classroom on PBO subjects added Java learning chatbot material from the Oracle Academy Java Foundation using the Messenger Facebook platform. Both of these learning media can help teachers in providing materials to students such as basic Java programming materials and the presentation of items about the quiz. In the quiz model that is presented by this chatbot, the students get responses of different items in the quiz about the material that is displayed in accordance with the score of the difficulty level of the problems done by the students by the Organizing Exercise Items method. In the test results, chatbot is applied to the learning of 3 classes and creating a higher final exam results with an average difference of 0.60 points from the conventional learning group. In the learning results there is also an increase in the value of post test of 0.39 points from the first test. Thus the students can interact with chatbot as a learning medium Java programming language and Chatbot can help teachers in the provision of materials and quizzes. And result of effectiveness test through ISO 9126 software quality test some aspect gets predicate very feasible to applied.

Rancang Bangun Chatbot Pembelajaran Java pada Google Classroom dan Facebook Messenger

The use of technology to improve the experience and teaching and learning process in the classroom has been promoted now. One of these technologies is Augmented Reality (AR). Users are in a virtual space while still having nuances in real life called AR. AR has been proven to offer several solutions in the context of education, namely increasing learning involvement and increasing understanding of some materials. This study proposes AR-assisted learning media with the method of 3D Based Tracking and audio Marker, which is used by preschool children to recognize animals and fruits in English alphabetically, then analyze, evaluate, and know the effects on their use. The Extreme Programming (XP) method is used as an application development method. Application testing is done by black box testing, testing variations between distance, angle, lighting, background, and font size of the marker, and AR-Child response time to the detection of markers by the camera for the appearance of virtual objects. Thirty preschool children aged 4-6 years were involved in using the AR-Child application and analyzing application testing on the attractiveness and fun elements of students with fun testing. The effect of using AR-Child is seen from the learning outcomes at the end of the second meeting.
