TL;DR: In this article, the free vibration of a simply supported rectangular plate with some sectionally clamped portions along the edges was analyzed by relaxing the initial condition of clamping, which was accomplished by introducing a resisting moment, bringing about a slope displacement opposite in sense to that developed in the clamped sections at the edges of the plate.
