A case of Miller Fisher syndrome with pharyngeal palsy as an initial symptom
TL;DR: A 68-year-old man admitted to the authors' hospital with pharyngeal palsy two weeks after a respiratory infection developed ataxic gait, paresthesia in the upper limbs and ophthalmoplegia, and all the symptoms subsided within two months.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrophysiologic mechanisms of adverse effects of class I antiarrhythmic drugs (cibenzoline, pilsicainide, disopyramide, procainamide) in induction of atrioventricular re-entrant tachycardia.
TL;DR: It is concluded that the adverse effects of class I drugs are mainly due to induction of unidirectional retrograde conduction of the manifest accessory pathway and the greater prolongation of the retrogrades conduction time of the concealed accessory pathway than the refractory period, regardless of the subclassification ofclass I drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Previous Stroke on Clinical Outcome in Elderly Patients With Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation: ANAFIE Registry
Takashi Yoshimoto,Kazunori Toyoda,Masafumi Ihara,Hiroshi Inoue,Takeshi Yamashita,Shinya Suzuki,Masaharu Akao,Hirotsugu Atarashi,Takanori Ikeda,Ken Okumura,Yukihiro Koretsune,Wataru Shimizu,Hiroyuki Tsutsui,Atsushi Hirayama,Masahiro Yasaka,Hirofumi Maruyama,Satoshi Teramukai,Tetsuya Kimura,Yoshiyuki Morishima,Atsushi Takita,Takenori Yamaguchi +20 more
TL;DR: Among patients aged ≥75 years with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation and previous stroke/TIA, the risk of hemorrhagic events was lower in patients taking direct oral anticoagulants compared with warfarin.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pelvic retroperitoneal liposarcoma diagnosed by preoperative imaging studies.
Takashi Shibuya,Akihiro Mori,Nobutoshi Fushimi,Noritsugu Ohashi,Takako Maruyama,Hiroshi Inoue,Shoudou Takegoshi,Toyoharu Yokoi,Masataka Okuno +8 more
TL;DR: Histological observation of the specimen was compatible with pleomorphic liposarcoma and high-intensity magnetic resonance image demonstrated low-intensity mass with high- intensity crescent on T2weighted MRI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effective and safe dose of intracoronary nicorandil in man
TL;DR: Results indicate that dilatation of the epicardial coronary artery was achieved with intracoronary nicorandil in a dose-dependent manner without any adverse effects in man, and the dilatory effect on coronary resistance vessels was of short duration.
