Journal ArticleDOI

Compact electron beam ion trap for spectroscopy of moderate charge state ions.

TL;DR: A compact electron beam ion trap has been constructed for spectroscopic studies of moderate charge state ions and a superconducting wire with a high critical temperature is used for the central magnet so that it can be operated without liquid helium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visible spectroscopy of Rh-like ions

TL;DR: In this paper, the visible transition of a multiply charged Ba ion was observed by using an electron beam ion trap, which was identified as a magnetic dipole transition between ground-state fine-structure levels (4d9, 2D5/2 −2D3/2) of Rh-like Ba.
