Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic and structural properties of Co/Pt multilayers
C. J. Lin,G.L. Gorman,C. H. Lee,R. F. C. Farrow,Ernesto E. Marinero,Hoa Van Do,H. Notarys,C.J. Chien +7 more
TL;DR: The magnetic properties of Co/Pt multilayers, in particular anisotropy and coercivity, are very sensitive to the Co layer thickness and less dependent on the Pt layer thickness as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coupled granular/continuous medium for thermally stable perpendicular magnetic recording
Yoshiaki Sonobe,Dieter Weller,Yoshihiro Ikeda,Kentaro Takano,M. E. Schabes,Gabriel Zeltzer,Hoa Van Do,B.K. Yen,Margaret Evans Best +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, coupled granular/continuous (CGC) perpendicular media consisting of a continuous multilayer structure and a granular layer was studied and the authors found that the addition of Co/Pt multilayers decreased the nucleation field from 200 to −1800 Oe and increased the squareness from 0.9 to 1.0.
Patent
Laminated magnetic recording media with antiferromagnetically coupled layer as one of the individual magnetic layers in the laminate
TL;DR: In this paper, a laminated magnetic recording medium for data storage has an antiferromagnetic coupled (AFC) layer and a single ferromagnetic layer spaced apart by a nonferromagnetic spacer layer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermally stable CGC perpendicular recording media with Pt-rich CoPtCr and thin Pt layers
Yoshiaki Sonobe,Hiroaki Muraoka,Katsuya Miura,Yoshihisa Nakamura,Kentaro Takano,Andreas Moser,Hoa Van Do,B.K. Yen,Yoshihiro Ikeda,N. Supper,W. Weresin +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated a new class of coupled granular/continuous (CGC) perpendicular media consisting of a Pt-rich CoPtCr layer with poor Co-Cr phase segregation and a thin Pt layer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magneto-optical recording on evaporated Co/Pt multilayer films
C.-J. Lin,Hoa Van Do +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Co/Pt multilayers composed of 0.3-nm Co and 1-nm Pt layers were prepared by e-beam evaporation from Co and Pt sources.
