Journal ArticleDOI
Strength and independence of associations between ghrelin, leptin, adiponectin and insulin in stimulating basic functions to energy metabolism
TL;DR: Elevated fasting ghrelin appears to modulate other hormonal systems that participate in the regulation of food intake and positive correlation between adiponectin and insulin with both macronutrients suggests a role of adip onectin in enhancing insulin action.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between testosterone, sex hormone binding globulin, angiopoietin related growth factor and insulin resistance in normal weight and obese men
TL;DR: The present results revealed for the first time an association between SHBG and AGF serum levels that could suggest that they overlap to regulate metabolic homeostasis in normal weight men and that the disturbed inter-relationship could contribute to the pathogenesis of insulin resistance and obesity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Liraglutide treatment and acylcarnitine profiles in Egyptian obese insulin-resistant females.
Neveen A. Hussein,Samia Abd El-Moneim Ebied,Hoda A. Nour,Usama K. Zaki,Sahar M. EL-Kotishy,Tarek Salem +5 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that circulating AcylCN profiles can reflect mitochondrial overload that happen in response to obesity and can be used as markers for diagnosis of metabolic disorders.
