Is Postoperative Adjuvant Chemotherapy Useful for Gallbladder Carcinoma? A Phase III Multicenter Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial in Patients with Resected Pancreaticobiliary Carcinoma
Tadahiro Takada,Hodaka Amano,Hideki Yasuda,Yuji Nimura,Takashi Matsushiro,Hiroyuki Kato,Takukazu Nagakawa,Toshimichi Nakayama +7 more
TL;DR: A randomized controlled study evaluated the effect of postoperative adjuvant therapy with mitomycin C and 5‐fluorouracil versus surgery alone (control arm) on survival and disease‐free survival (DFS) for each specific disease comprising resected pancreaticobiliary carcinoma (pancreatic, gallbladder, bile duct, or ampulla of Vater carcinoma) separately.
Journal ArticleDOI
Guidelines for the management of biliary tract and ampullary carcinomas: surgical treatment
Satoshi Kondo,Tadahiro Takada,Masaru Miyazaki,Shuichi Miyakawa,Kazuhiro Tsukada,Masato Nagino,Junji Furuse,Hiroya Saito,Toshio Tsuyuguchi,Masakazu Yamamoto,Masato Kayahara,Fumio Kimura,Hideyuki Yoshitomi,Satoshi Nozawa,Masahiro Yoshida,Keita Wada,Satoshi Hirano,Hodaka Amano,Fumihiko Miura +18 more
TL;DR: Although hepatectomy and/or pancreaticoduodenectomy are preferable for the curative resection of biliary duct cancer, extrahepatic bile duct resection alone is also considered in patients for whom it is judged that curatives would be achieved after a strict diagnosis of its local extension.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnosis of pancreatic cancer
TL;DR: F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) has been suggested as a promising modality for noninvasive differentiation between benign and malignant lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: Carbon ion RT with concurrent full-dose gemcitabine was well tolerated and effective in patients with unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Management of postoperative arterial hemorrhage after pancreato‐biliary surgery according to the site of bleeding: re‐laparotomy or interventional radiology
Fumihiko Miura,Takehide Asano,Hodaka Amano,Masahiro Yoshida,Naoyuki Toyota,Keita Wada,Kenichiro Kato,Eriko Yamazaki,Susumu Kadowaki,Makoto Shibuya,Sawako Maeno,Shigeru Furui,Koji Takeshita,Yutaka Kotake,Tadahiro Takada +14 more
TL;DR: Management of postoperative arterial hemorrhage after pancreato-biliary surgery should be done according to the site of bleeding and the initial operative procedure, and careful consideration is required for indication of interventional radiology for bleeding from SMA after pancreatectomy and hepatic artery after major hepatctomy with bilioenteric anastomosis.
