Analysis of Large-Size Flexible Shallow Foundation Settlement Basing on Foundation-Soil Interaction

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of foundation parameters and load conditions on basal pressure and foundation settlement were simulated to value adoption of the height-width ratio by finite element method, and it was shown that soil physical parameters of elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio and expansion angle had great impacts on foundation settlement, and the accuracy of these parameters should be ensure in modeling.

TL;DR: Wu et al. as discussed by the authors studied the influence of inclined and straight combination support piles on the bending moment and displacement behavior of adjacent pile foundations during the construction of a deep foundation pit under different factors such as distance from the excavation surface, pit angle effect, inclined pile tilt angle, pit depth to width ratio, and construction conditions on the adjacent pile foundation using a three-dimensional finite element model.
