Journal ArticleDOI

Defining a Link with Autosomal-Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease in Mice with Congenitally Low Expression of Pkd1

TL;DR: In this viable model, up-regulation of heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor accompanied increased epider mal growth factor receptor signaling, which may be involved in abnormal proliferation of the cyst-lining epithelia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Targeted disruption of Nphp1 causes male infertility due to defects in the later steps of sperm morphogenesis in mice

TL;DR: Findings indicate that nephrocystin is critically required for the differentiation of early elongating spermatids into spermatozoa in mice, and the possible roles in the formation and maintenance of Sertoli-spermatid junctions are still under investigation.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of physical and physiological cues on atomic force microscopy-based cell stiffness assessment

TL;DR: The results provide basic and significant information about the suitable selection of physical and physiological cues and show that cell elasticity increases with increasing culture density only in MDCK epithelial cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Caveolin-1 down-regulation is required for Wnt5a-Frizzled 2 signalling in Ha-RasV12 -induced cell transformation.

TL;DR: Results suggest that both decreasing Cav1 and increasing exosomal Wnt5a must be implemented during Ha‐RasV12‐driven cell transformation, and suggest that Cav1‐dependent repression of Fzd2 and exosome uptake is potentially relevant to its antitransformation activity.
