In order to eliminate the distortion influence error caused by human body on the measurement of hand-held high voltage power frequency electric field measurement device, field intensity distortion caused by induced current of human body has been analyzed, and the enhancement factor of the electric field intensity is introduced to reduce the distortion degree of electric field measurement value by electric field measuring instrument. A simple model of the human body is built, the Ansoft Maxwell is used to simulate and calculate the electric field distribution around the high voltage power frequency transmission lines when human body presented, and distortion influence of field intensity distribution caused by human body has been analyzed. In addition, the enhancement factor value of electric field is determined and the electric field distortion is corrected by experiment and comparing the measurement data with the electromagnetic field analyzer EFA300. With the actual measured values of instrument restored the value of the field intensity when the human body away from the measuring equipment, the distortion influence measurement error can be reduced and measurement precision can be improved.

The Distortion Influence Simulation and Experimental Study of Human Body to High Voltage Power Frequency Electric Field

Based on the basic theory of electromagnetic field, the Electric Field Distortion (EFD) in power frequency electric field caused by induced current of human body has been analyzed. The enhancement factor of the electric field distortion is introduced to reduce the influences caused by human body in the measurement of high voltage electric fields. The Ansoft Maxwell is used to simulate and calculate the electric field distribution under the influence of the human body to have the value of enhancement factor. In addition, the enhancement factor has been corrected by experiment with the electromagnetic field analyzer EFA300. With the enhancement factor introduced in this paper, the measurement error can be reduced.

The Experimental Study on the Influence of Human Body to Measurement of High Voltage Power Frequency Electric Field

The electromagnetic fields radiated by electrostatic discharge is analyzed using the bipolar model The transient electric and magnetic fields generated by electrostatic discharge from the charged human body during the operation of computers are measured by a very high sampling rate oscilloscope and custom\|made wide band electric field and magnetic field antennas The spectrum of the fields is analyzed by FFT The influence of the fields on high frequency signals is studied The results show that the electric fields can be several hundred V/m and the magnetic fields can be several A/m even if the discharge voltage is very low(2kV)The spectrum of the fields is very wide ranging from several MHz to several GHzThe effects of the fields on high frequency circuits show that some influences such as “latent effects” on integrated circuits or devices, electromagnetic interference and even damage to the circuits can be caused by the electromagnetic fields generated by electrostatic discharge from the charged human body
