Journal ArticleDOI
Composition and growth mechanisms of alumina scales on FeCrAl-based alloys determined by SNMS
TL;DR: In this article, the growth of alumina scales on a conventional wrought alloy Fe-20Cr-5Al and on an yttria containing ODS alloy of similar base composition were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studies concerning the effect of nitrogen on the oxidation behavior of TiAl-based intermetallics at 900°C
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of nitrogen on the scale-growth kinetics of titanium aluminides and found that nitrogen adversely affects the formation of the initially formed alumina scale and enhances the growth rate of the rapidly growing Ti-rich oxide.
Journal ArticleDOI
The oxidation behaviour of niobium containing γ-TiAl based intermetallics in air and argon/oxygen
TL;DR: In this article, a combination of optical microscopy, SEM/EDX and X-ray diffraction analyses was used to characterize the oxide scales of TiO2/Al2O3-surface scales.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of water vapor on the oxidation behavior of 9%Cr steels in simulated combustion gases
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the O 2 and H 2 O content on the oxidation behavior of the 9%Cr steel P91 was studied in the temperature range of 600-800°C.
Journal ArticleDOI
Precipitation Behavior of Ni-Cr-22 Fe-18 Mo (Hastelloy-X) and Ni-Cr-22 Co-12 Mo (Inconel-617) After Isothermal Aging
TL;DR: In this paper, the precipitation behavior of the nickel-base alloys Ni-Cr-22 Fe-18 Mo (Hastelloy-X) and Ni-cr-22 Co-12 Mo (Inconel-617) has been investigated as a function of aging temperature.
