Journal ArticleDOI
Total structure determination of thiolate-protected Au38 nanoparticles.
TL;DR: The total structure of Au(38)(SC(2)H(4)Ph)(24) nanoparticles determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography is reported, which is based upon a face-fused Au(23) biicosahedral core and capped by three monomeric Au(SR)(2) staples at the waist of the Au( 23) rod.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantum Sized Gold Nanoclusters with Atomic Precision
TL;DR: Gold nanoclusters have discrete electronic energy levels as opposed to the continuous band in plasmonic nanoparticles, and show multiple optical absorption peaks in the optical spectrum versus a single surface plAsmon resonance (SPR) peak at 520 nm for spherical gold nanocrystals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Total Structure and Electronic Properties of the Gold Nanocrystal Au36(SR)24
Chenjie Zeng,Huifeng Qian,Tao Li,Gao Li,Nathaniel L. Rosi,Bokwon Yoon,Robert N. Barnett,Robert L. Whetten,Uzi Landman,Rongchao Jin +9 more
TL;DR: A golden opportunity: the total structure of a Au(36)(SR)(24) nanocluster reveals an unexpected face-centered-cubic tetrahedral Au(28) kernel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atomically Precise Au25(SR)18 Nanoparticles as Catalysts for the Selective Hydrogenation of α,β‐Unsaturated Ketones and Aldehydes
Journal ArticleDOI
Monoplatinum Doping of Gold Nanoclusters and Catalytic Application
Huifeng Qian,De-en Jiang,Gao Li,Chakicherla Gayathri,Anindita Das,Roberto R. Gil,Rongchao Jin +6 more
TL;DR: Experimental and theoretical analyses confirmed that Pt(1)Au(24)(SC(2)H(4)Ph)(18) possesses a Pt-centered icosahedral core capped by six Au(2)(SC[2]H( 4]Ph)(3) staples, and its drastic effects on the optical, electronic, and catalytic properties were confirmed.
