The Witten equation and its virtual fundamental cycle

TL;DR: In this paper, a perturbation to the original Cauchy-Riemann equation is introduced and a virtual cycle for the moduli space of its solutions is constructed, which satisfies axioms similar to those of Gromov-Witten theory and r-spin theory.
Journal ArticleDOI

A mathematical theory of the gauged linear sigma model

TL;DR: In this paper, a mathematical theory of Witten's GLSM is presented, which applies to a wide range of examples, including many cases with nonabelian gauge groups.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geometry and Analysis of Spin Equations

TL;DR: In particular, the compactness theorem holds for the superpotentials E6, E7, E8, or An−1, Dn+1 for n ≥ 3 as mentioned in this paper.

Witten's D_4 Integrable Hierarchies Conjecture

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the total descendant potential functions of Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten theory for D_4 with symmetry group and D-4^T with symmetric group G_{max} are both tau-functions of the Kac-Wakimoto/Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy.
